Dr. Kurth is an Arizona native! She graduated from Colorado State University in 2016. Since graduating, Dr. Kurth has practiced in a mixed general practice and emergency setting. She has undergone additional training in ultrasonography and is offering diagnostic ultrasounds at QCVC. In 2018 she attended a week long training course and was part of the first class of veterinarians certified in the use of Ozone therapy. She is excited to share it’s many benefits with her patients.
At home Dr. Kurth enjoys spending time with her husband and two wonderful children Remington and Caroline. She enjoys family dinners, board games, racquetball, camping and reading. Her family shares their home with two dogs, Monty (a Miniature Schnauzer) and Red (a Labradoodle) and a cat named Lightening Storm. They also have two Morgan Horses named Sparky and Malibar along with several chickens.
Dr. Cohen is a New York native, raised on Staten Island. He became interested in Veterinary Medicine at a young age and furthered that interest volunteering at the Staten Island Zoo. He aquired a B.S. degree with high honors in 1985 from the State University of New York College of Oneonta with a major in biology/pre-veterinary medicine and a minor in Chemistry. He was then accepted to University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary. In 1989 he became a member of the Veterinary Honors Society, Phi Zeta and completed his DVM degree in 1990.
In 1992 he completed a rotating internship in Rochester NY in the areas of companion animal medicine and surgery with specialist in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Ophthalmology and Radiology.
Upon completion of his internship Dr. Cohen moved to Arizona. He started his first practice, Pecan Grove Veterinary Clinic. Being a horse lover, he moved to Queen Creek in November 1997 and opened Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Cohen has professional interests in diagnostic and internal medicine as well as preventative medicine.
Dr. Cohen’s personal interests are camping, photography, and restoring his ’67 Mustang. He shares his home with several companions: Josie a Doberman, 2 Siamese cats named Drax and Cammy, and a few snakes, geckos and frogs. He also has 2 horses named Mari and Stinky.
Dr. McGee was born and raised in Colorado. She lived her teenage years on 10 acres outside of Parker with horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, companion birds, and a pet potbellied pig. After graduating high school, she moved around and eventually settled in Greeley Co with her family. Even though she lived in the suburbs, she couldn’t help but to have lots of pets. She rescued and hand raised companion birds, and shared her home with her dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, duck, turkeys, and a turtle. She graduated UNCO with a bachelors degree in cellular molecular biology. She then moved to Phoenix with her three children to attend Midwestern University and graduated with her DVM in 2019. During her time at MWU she worked part time as a veterinary assistant, enjoyed helping her community through mobile clinics, TNR (trap neuter release), and the veterinary fraternity Omega Tau Sigma. Her greatest interests are in pathology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, exotic and mixed practice medicine.
Her favorite pastimes are hiking and camping in the mountains. She also loves painting, playing her violin, biking, gardening, fishing, and anything that allows her to be outside and active.
Dr. Meschino is an Arizona native born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona. She completed her bachelors degree at the University of Arizona. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine before graduating in 2016 and returning home to Arizona. Dr. Meschino has experience working with many different types of pets and has a big interest in solving difficult dermatology cases.
Her pets at home include a tortoise named Edgar, a kitty named Pascal, two dogs and horses. Her Boxer mix Eza is a tripod and Doug is an energetic Hanging Tree Cow Dog. Aristocrat is her competition Arabian horse and Notch is a Quarter Horse. In her spare time Dr. Meschino competes in cutting and reining and enjoys getting outdoors. You’ll frequently find her at the lake kayaking, paddle boarding or going for a hike.
Dr. Kelsey (KJ) Sampayan went to undergrad at Colorado Christian University (CCU) where she majored in pre-med while on a soccer scholarship. She also worked as a kennel tech at a small animal clinic near her school. Kelsey then went to Veterinary school at Midwestern University for her DVM and graduated in 2020. During veterinary school, she was a receptionist and technician at a general practice and emergency clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has a special interest in tricky dermatology cases and cardiology.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband (Brandon), two Golden Doodles named Zella and Willow, and her bunny Leila. Dr. KJ also plays indoor and outdoor soccer for a couple leagues in the valley.
Stephanie joined our team as Hospital Manager in 2019. She began her career in animal medicine working at a animal rescue as a animal care attendant and adoption counselor for 4 years. Stephanie wanted to further her knowledge of the medical side of animal care and began working at a veterinary hospital in 2011. There she was able to grow her skills and knowledge of just about every aspect of the hospital. She has a passion for educating clients and helping owners make the best decisions for their pets.
Stephanie grew up near Monterey, California but moved to Arizona in 2007. She loves going hiking in the cooler months and paddle boarding at the Salt River and Canyon Lake over Summer.
At home Stephanie and her husband have a toddler son and three dogs. Thor and Raylee were among the first French Bulldogs to earn trick titles and have appeared in advertisements for companies, including PetSmart, nationally. They are mostly retired now but are always happy to show their skills if it means getting an extra treat. Her other dog is a rescue terrier mix named Johnny, who is camera shy and acts more like a cat then dog.
Christina joined us at Queen Creek Vet in August 2019 but has been a veterinary technician for 10 years. Her favorite aspect of working as a veterinary technician is educating clients and providing a high level of patient care. She also enjoys working through more complicated medical cases, including her own pets!
Christina shares her home with 5 dogs Cleo a Great Dane, two Springer Spaniels named Miley Moo and Bonki, Kenzie a Yorkshire Terrier mix and Kalis a Miniature Pinscher. She also has a cat named Fievel and a Bearded Dragon named Piper.
In her free time she enjoys hiking and spending time outdoor with her husband and friends.
Jen was born and raised Arizona but dreams of living by the ocean, or in a Disney castle. She is married and has 2 fur babies named Artemis and Theia. Other than her passion for animals, she is very passionate about everything Disney.
Jen and her husband spend their free time doing anything Disney related. They love spending quality time with their fur babies, family and friends.
Jen always wants to make people smile and finds a way to help anywhere she can. She has worked in the animal field for 10 years in a variety of jobs ranging from boarding facilities to veterinary hospitals.
Kaitlynn joined the Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic team as a technician in October of 2019. Before joining us she attended and graduated from Pima Medical Institues Veterinary Technician program. She shares her home with 5 cats named: Piston, Simba, Eclipse, Tinkerbell, and Salem as well as two dogs. Dolly is a American Pitbull Terrier and Sadie is a Australian Kelpie and Cattle Dog mix.
In her spare time Kaitlynn enjoys spending time with her family. She often takes her fiance and kids on day trips around Arizona or spends her weekends camping. Kaitlynn is excited to learn more about all areas of veterinary medicine and is especially interested in canine and feline dental cleanings.
Lacy joined us at Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic early in 2020. She is currently attending Mesa Community College and plans to continue her education to become a veterinarian in the future.
She shares her home with a cat named Sally and her Australian Cattle dog mix named Rufus. When she has free time between school and work she enjoys riding horses and hiking with her dog.
Kayla is currently a pre-vet student at ASU. She has grown up helping out around her family’s veterinary hospital in California. She’s always had an interest in veterinary medicine so after completing her first degree in political science she decided to take the plunge by going back to school to one day become a veterinarian. She has a love for animals big and small and plans to focus her education on zoological medicine.
Kayla shares her home with dogs, cats, pet mice and geckos.
Caitlin is an Arizona local and joined Queen Creek Vet in the summer of 2019. She began her veterinary career in 2012 and graduated from Pima’s veterinary assistant program in 2014. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is orthopedic surgery. Caitlin’s pets include two rescue Pitbull Terriers named Mack and Bella, and two rescue kittens named Skellington and Taco. At home she also has a Ghost Colombian Boa named Veronica.
Her other interests include quilting, puzzles and attending rock concerts.
Ashlyn grew up in Southern California and moved to Arizona in 2019. In CA she volunteered for a shelter and fell in love with caring for pets in need. She loves fostering “bottle baby” kittens and has raised over 100 as a foster mom. She attended Mount San Antonio College’s RVT program and plans to further her education at University of Arizona’s Vet program to become a equine and livestock vet. Ashlyn’s long term plan is to breed and raise Friesian horses.
At home Ashlyn has a houseful of animals including two Pitbull Terrier’s named Helios and Zeus and a Doberman Pinscher named Jupiter. Her cats are named Seline, Hades, and Athena. She also has a Ball Python named Katana and Ferret named Ramon. When she is not at work or hanging out with her pets she loves to read, paint and ride horses.
Kelsey is a graduate of PIMA’s Veterinary Assistant program. She joined Queen Creek Vet as a Kennel Attendant and Veterinary Assistant in August 2019. She is enjoying getting some hands on experience working with our boarding pets and assisting the technicians and plans to continue her education to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Eventually she would love to specialize in surgery.
Kelsey was born and raised in Montana and moved to Arizona as a teenager. Her pets at home include 2 cats named Darcy and Sage and3 dogs. Riley is a dachshund, Jake a pitbull terrier and Wesley is a Setter mix. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family and getting outdoors to hike and camp.
Karla was born and raised in Arizona and moved to Queen Creek in 2017. She attended PIMA and graduated in January 2020 before joining us at Queen Creek Vet. She loves learning new things each day and plans to further her veterinary knowledge by going back to school to specialize in behavior and training.
Karla has a young German Shepherd named Lola and a 8 year old Chihuahua named Chuchi. In her free time she enjoys doing makeup, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
